What is lip filler??
Lip filler is made of hyaluronic acid which is a sugar found naturally in the body. When injected directly into the lips, the hyaluronic acid traps water, causing an increase in lip volume as well as moisture. The hyaluronic acid will gradually dissolve into your body over time – making it a safe and effective way to achieve your desired lip fullness.
What should I expect at my lip filler appointment?
First, your healthcare provider will assess your lips and also get an idea of the results you want to achieve. From there, your healthcare provider will recommend how much lip filler will be needed for your desired results. When your healthcare provider starts your treatment, they will numb your lips with a topical cream. Then they will inject your lips with your chosen filler. Finally, they will give you ice to help with the swelling. Your treatment will last anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour.

What can I expect after treatment?
You will want to avoid puckering your lips for 24-48 hours. Some injection site bruising, swelling, and a general tightness may occur but will subside within a few days. Icing your lips at home may help to reduce the swelling but avoid massaging your lips. You will be left with luscious, fuller lips.
You also want to make sure you don’t schedule laser hair removal for your upper lip or chin, a facial, or a dentist appointment for 2-3 weeks after your treatment. These types of appointments could raise your risk of infection or affect the shape of your lips. It is best to wait until you’re fully healed before making any type of appointment where your healthcare provider will be in direct contact with your lips/mouth.
