What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid which is a sugar found naturally in the body. When injected directly into the skin or lips, the hyaluronic acid traps water, causing an increase in volume and shape as well as moisture. This added moisture will give your skin or lips a natural look in addition to the fullness you achieve. What should I expect at my dermal fillers appointment?
First, your healthcare provider will assess your skin and also get an idea of the results you want to achieve. From there, your healthcare provider will recommend how many syringes of dermal filler will be needed for your desired results. When your healthcare provider starts your treatment, they will numb the treatment area with a topical cream. Then they will inject your skin with your chosen filler. Finally, they will give you ice to help with the swelling. Your treatment will last anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour.

Who can use dermal fillers?
Anyone can use dermal filler. If you are allergic to hyaluronic acid, lidocaine or adrenaline, inform your healthcare provider so they can offer you alternative treatment options.

How quickly will I see results?
Visible results can be seen immediately but best results will be seen 3-4 days after treatment when swelling and bruising subsides.
Are multiple treatments needed?
Although results last 12-18 months, most people get their dermal fillers topped off before then to maintain their amazing new look.
What can I expect after treatment?
After your dermal fillers treatment, there may be some injection site bruising, swelling, and a general tightness may occur but will subside within a few days. Icing the treatment area at home may help to reduce the swelling. For best results, make sure you avoid the following for 24 hours after receiving dermal fillers:
- Massaging your skin.
- Strenuous exercise for 24 hours
- Alcohol for 24 hours
- AHA, Retinols/Vitamin C therapy or oil based make-up for 24 hours
Also, avoid the following for at least 2 weeks after receiving dermal fillers:
- Facials
- Facial waxing
- Glycolic or AHA peels
- IPL or energy based treatments
- Microdermabrasion
- Dentist Appointments

The cost of dermal fillers is $700 per syringe. You may need multiple syringes depending on area treated and desired results. Your healthcare provider will be able to give you an estimate of what will be needed before your dermal fillers treatment. You can supplement this treatment with our Intense Pulsed Light Therapy as well!
